The ‘Save, Watch, Don’t Throw!’ Campaign Continues

The award-winning campaign of the beloved Croatian beer Ožujskog “Save, Watch, Don’t Throw!”, which focuses on polluted nature, continues this year. To draw public attention to this issue and protect nature from the accumulation of irresponsibly disposed waste, Žuja has once again joined forces with local environmental associations and clubs and launched a new series of cleaning actions for illegal waste dumps at various locations in Croatia. Last weekend, cleaning took place in the municipality of Čavle near Rijeka, as well as in the area of Dugi Rat and at the Krilo port in Split, while this weekend volunteers are in Suknovci in the Knin area and near Opatija.

Last weekend, volunteers collected and properly disposed of various types of waste: from single-use plastics and household furniture to car parts. More than 100 volunteers participated in the cleaning action, collecting over 30 cubic meters of waste and cleaning approximately 3,500 square meters of nature and sea.

“After excellent results last year, we are pleased to continue the ‘Save, Watch, Don’t Throw!’ campaign this year. In addition to being awarded numerous recognitions for this campaign, the most important results are those related to the kilograms and tons of properly disposed waste, which we are particularly proud of because we want to be part of the community and one that solves concrete problems. With the messages we send, we want to encourage citizens to dispose of waste responsibly and to be aware that polluting nature harms all of us, but through cleaning actions, we also want to achieve tangible progress,” said Ana Štebih Pinjuh, marketing director of Zagrebačka pivovara.

In the cleaning actions, members of the associations and clubs Zeleni Osijek, Vodomar from Duga Resa, Žmergo from Opatija, eRIpio from Rijeka, KRKA Knin, KPA Iglun from Split, KPA Marsonia from Slavonski Brod, as well as Zagreb associations DPS Zagreb and Roniti se mora, are joined by the internal volunteer club of Zagrebačka pivovara, Pivovarci.

In last year’s actions, more than 300 volunteers participated, collecting over 15 tons of improperly disposed waste. This year, cleaning actions will take place at seven more locations across Croatia, covering the areas of Slavonia, Dalmatia, and the Dalmatian hinterland, the vicinity of Karlovac, and the Primorje-Gorski Kotar County. Proper collection and disposal of cleaned waste includes cleaning forests and fields, as well as cleaning river and sea beds, and these activities have been implemented in Žuja’s campaign “Save, Watch, Don’t Throw!”, whose promotional spot will be back on screens starting next week.
