On June 4, 2022, the Culture and Communication Festival will be held at the New Palaces in Zaprešić. The festival is the result of collaboration between the study programs Communication Management and Management in Culture and Cultural Tourism of the College with public rights Baltazar Zaprešić. The festival celebrates artistic creativity and academic excellence, bringing together experts from the fields of culture and communication in one place.
Zaprešić’s Vršilnica is an old grain processing facility dating back to the time of Ban Josip Jelačić, and this multifunctional center has hosted various events in the form of exhibitions, concerts, and conferences in recent years. This time, organized by the Baltazar College, specifically the study programs Communication Management and Management in Culture and Cultural Tourism, Vršilnica will become a center of artistic creativity and academic excellence for one day, through an interdisciplinary program that connects culture, art, communication, and education.
This entertaining and educational festival for students and the wider public perfectly combines and balances culture and communication, learning and entertainment, and announces several different panels in its rich program: Communication Management – Education and Perspectives in the Labor Market, From Trend to Brand, Media Clash, What Are Festivals For? and Is the Artist Hungry? Among the many names that the panels will host are Vedran Meniga, Matko Burić, Igor Bergam, Marina Poklepović Kostelac, Gabrijela Kišiček, Marina Bolanča, Alen Kekić, Igor Mladinović, Petra Despot Domljanović. There will also be numerous other well-known faces from the media world such as Andrija Jarak, Ema Branica, Ivana Tomić, Ana Raić Knežević, and Aleksandar Musić.
In addition to the panels, numerous workshops are planned, primarily aimed at students and young people. Participants will have the opportunity to join the photography workshop Wider than the Lens led by photographer Inia Herenčić and the Culture Shock workshop conducted by students who will share their experiences enabled by the Erasmus program. In the workshop, they will get to know other countries, languages, customs, and all the benefits of intercultural experiences and communication. There will also be a street art workshop Art Through the Colors of Graffiti led by Ivo Kosanović Smack and Vladimir Tomić Mosk, and a workshop Comment, Share, Like! led by influencer Brita Bobetić.
