Greencajt festival becomes the epicenter of green events

The Old Electric Bulb Factory (TEŽ) and the green oasis of Rougemarin Park will become the place where all green enthusiasts and the business community will discuss how it is possible to solve pressing ecological issues through joint efforts. The unique program of the Greencajt festival, which will take place from June 3 to June 5, 2022, will be enriched by concerts of the iconic Split band T.B.F. and the Dino Dvornik Tribute Band, while visitors will contribute by purchasing concert tickets, as all proceeds from ticket sales are intended for the implementation of ecological actions

– We are aware that we live in challenging times and a climate that has never existed before, and it is high time to emphasize the importance of overcoming green global challenges. We have a historic opportunity to be remembered as the generation that made a turnaround or as the generation that could have but did nothing. By organizing Greencajt, we want to be those who made the turnaround and those who showed that changes in numerous segments are necessary but also feasible – emphasized Vinko Filipić, director of the Greencajt festival.

This year’s Greencajt festival, in addition to providing a wealth of educational content, will also showcase models of the most attractive electric cars in the Expo zone. In the Expo zone, in collaboration with Energia Naturalis, a small solar power plant will be set up, and all visitors will have the opportunity to calculate how much they can save by installing a solar power plant on their own roof.

The artistic community has also decided to contribute to Greencajt. Namely, students and graduates of the Academy of Fine Arts, Laura Pascual, Lara Kreš, Leonardo Losciale, Luka Pacek, Ivana Škiljan, and Tea Švarić will present the project Green@art – what is waste, and what are we?, which problematizes our responsibility in creating a sustainable future. The project coordinator is assoc. prof. art. Danko Friščić.

This year’s festival program also brings excellent rhythms and good fun until late at night. It features concerts by the most famous iconic Split band T.B.F. and the Dino Dvornik Tribute Band, who will entertain visitors to the Greencajt festival with their rich repertoire and timeless hits. All food lovers will enjoy delicious bites from the special gastro offer of renowned Croatian chef Marin Medak, whose menu consists of vegan and vegetarian dishes from various world cuisines.

All panel visitors, in addition to acquiring new knowledge, practical examples, and information on sustainable development, will have the opportunity to win ten eco gardens that Greencajt is giving away in collaboration with Gruntek, the first digital garden in Croatia.
