Cybex Anoris T i-Size Car Seat has been awarded as the best child car seat ever tested in its class according to Stiftung Warentest and ADAC tests. The first seat with integrated airbag technology achieved success in the category 'Kleinkind plus Kind', winning the best score of 1.5, an unprecedented overall rating, as well as the best score of 0.9 in crash safety and 1.2 in the overall category 'safety'.
More than 15 years ago, Cybex founder Martin Pos began to think about a seat that offers comprehensive protection for children even in forward-facing seating positions.
– For decades, airbags have been part of vehicle safety equipment aimed at protecting adults from serious injuries in the event of an accident. Thanks to the tireless work of our development team and the availability of new technologies, we are now definitely proud to have received clear recognition from ADAC and StiWe for our technological achievement due to this historic result, says Pos.
– Protecting children has always been a challenge. Compared to their bodies, their heads are large and heavy with neck muscles that are not fully developed. In the event of a frontal collision, the child is subjected to a large surface area of the airbag and is kept within the safety zone of the seat before significant forward movement occurs. Above all, the sensitive areas of the head and neck remain perfectly protected, says Franz Peleska, Head of Development at Cybex.
Test results show the advantages of the new integrated airbag technology with CYBEX Anoris T i-Size, which demonstrates better performance even compared to conventional rear-facing seats. The actual crash performance test rating from ADAC, ÖAMTC, Stiftung Warentest, and TCS was 0.9 – a result never before seen in the history of testing.
