Steel production for domestic and foreign markets will soon begin in Sisak! The Italian investor Group Danieli, which already has the ABS steel mill in Udine, Italy, announced on its website that it will soon start building a new facility within the ironworks worth two hundred million euros, where steel will be produced, one of the materials that have drastically increased in price over the last two years.
The modern rolling mill will be, as announced by Group Danieli, a fully digitalized facility that will increase energy efficiency. Attention will also be paid to the carbon footprint of the facility, and it will employ 180 people. According to investor expectations, approximately 550 thousand tons of steel and finished steel products will be produced annually in Sisak, intended for both the domestic and European markets. And if investors are to be believed, there will also be business opportunities for the engagement of local service providers, logistics, and maintenance in the new facility, which the investor emphasizes in the statement.
