Ignacije Čutura is the new face at the helm of Hrvatska Lutrija. The change in the well-known company owned by the Republic of Croatia, which went 'under the radar', occurred last month, with Čutura being appointed as the new CEO instead of Mario Musa.
Čutura joined the Management Board of the Lottery as a member in December 2018. Prior to that, according to data from Poslovna Hrvatska, he was the director of the company Sati-Zagreb from 2004 to 2010, which was dissolved in 2013, and according to his LinkedIn profile, he was also one of the directors at Ina.
On the other hand, Musa became the CEO in 2017, and interestingly, he was dismissed from the same company two years before his appointment to the head of the Lottery in 2017. He subsequently sued the Lottery for unlawful dismissal, but after his appointment in 2017, he withdrew that same lawsuit.
It is also worth mentioning that Musa and Čutura recently came under the scrutiny of the Commission for Conflict of Interest because, in addition to the salary they received in their positions on the Management Board, they also received substantial annual bonuses 'for achieved business results' as well as monetary annual allowances for children's gifts, Christmas bonuses, and similar. Jutarnji list reported at the time that Musa had to pay a fine of 8,000 kuna, while Čutura was fined 2,000 kuna.
