Achieving climate goals is indeed challenging, but possible, claim international and domestic experts in the field of sustainability, who will present alternatives for permanently reducing negative environmental impacts at the upcoming Greencajt festival through lectures and panel discussions. This green event will take place from June 3 to 5 at the old Electric Bulb Factory and Rougemarin Park in Zagreb, becoming a hub for green enthusiasts and discussions on pressing ecological risks.
The business community will familiarize itself with the challenges of ecology and sustainable solutions through more than 20 panels and lectures. In a discussion about smart cities, the mayor of the Croatian metropolis Tomislav Tomašević and Klara Schedlich, a representative in the Berlin parliament, will explain how certain places can become smarter, more sustainable, and greener. On the panel titled Innovators as Messengers of the Future – Do We Have a New Nikola Tesla?, Ivan Mrvoš, a young Croatian founder of the company Include, Tomislav Uroda, and Filip Mijatović, co-founder of CityGreens Farming, will reveal what lies behind the development of smart benches, green farms, and ecological solutions in maritime affairs. Gastro experts Mate Janković and Marin Medak will answer the question Can Chefs Be Leaders of the Food Waste Revolution?, while the panel participants titled What Will Be on the Menu of the Future? will resolve the dilemma surrounding the disappearance of chocolate and coffee. The strong dynamics of the labor market suggest that some professions will disappear due to climate instabilities, while in a few years, certain professions will shine on the business scene, a fact that the main actors in the discussion Future Professions – 2030 is Not So Far Away are aware of.
„Sustainability and climate change are not an option. They are more than an ethical imperative, as sustainability has become a decisive business imperative. If countries, regions, cities, and companies do not confront this challenge, it will be difficult to maintain business operations“, emphasizes festival guest Göran Carstedt, former advisor to Bill Clinton on climate change, former CEO of IKEA Europe and IKEA North America, and former CEO of Volvo, who will talk about the challenges facing today’s leaders.
How to best blend with nature, how the natural world affects mental peace, and at what speed the environment is being destroyed is best known by Bonita Norris, a young adventurer who has conquered Mount Everest and the North Pole.
