Mattel Created a Barbie Doll Inspired by Queen Elizabeth II.

On the occasion of her historic platinum jubilee, the American company Mattel decided to gift British Queen Elizabeth II and create her – Barbie version. On the Queen’s 96th birthday, Mattel will 'Queen' dolls for sale as part of 'tribute' collection that honors 'visionaries who have had an exceptional impact and left a rich legacy'. The Queen is the second doll in this collection, following American actress Lucille Ball.

A Faithful Replica

This exceptional Barbie doll wears an ivory-colored dress with a blue ribbon adorned with bows; a pink one gifted to the Queen by her father George VI and a light blue one worn by her grandfather George V. Additionally, designers from Mattel created a replica of the tiara that belonged to her mother and which she wore at her wedding. The doll will be sold in a special box with decorations inspired by Buckingham Palace, a red carpet, and, of course, the throne on which Elizabeth II has sat for a full 70 years.
