Croatia has found itself in a sort of environment: we are being pressured from the east, but also from the west. The Croatian IT space is under attack from united American-Ukrainian forces, as well as German ones. This is a combination of wartime and peacetime reasons, all relating to the Croatian IT space.

Jutarnji reports that the American IT company Newfire Global Partners evacuated its offices from Ukrainian cities to Croatia before the war. Simultaneously, the German software and consulting company Scheer announced to the public that by opening a branch and business premises in Zagreb, it plans further expansion in the Adriatic region and Southeast Europe. Feelings are mixed. These are good reputational news. Software developers are also happy, as their prices will rise further. However, entrepreneurs in the industry are pulling their hair out when they hear that Americans plan to hire a hundred people by the end of the year, and the Germans are aiming for the same number of experts.

The arrival of foreigners should also be added to the ambitions of the domestic scene. The company Project 3 (P3) Mobility, co-owned by Mate Rimac, which is developing a new mobility system for new transportation methods in broader urban areas, plans to increase the number of jobs from the current hundred to over 230 by the end of this year, and to around a thousand in two years. IT professionals were already among the most deficient occupations before these major announcements. This staffing gap will soon become a key obstacle to development.
