One of the largest food companies in the region and the leading domestic dairy industry, Vindija, will increase the purchase price of milk by 15 lipa starting April 1, and by an additional 10 lipa from May 1. This means that suppliers will receive 25 lipa more per liter of delivered milk, which, along with previous increases since the beginning of the year, results in a total increase of 67 million kuna annually, or half a kuna more per purchased liter of milk.
The Varaždin company purchases milk from over 1,000 farms, and by increasing the purchase price of milk for all its suppliers, Vindija continues to support Croatian agriculture, farmers, and small agricultural producers.
– We monitor and understand the market situation, we are aware of the challenges that price fluctuations pose to our valuable farmers, and this increase in purchase prices is additional support for small family farms, as well as larger farms in continuing and enhancing their competitiveness. We see this as the only correct path towards strengthening the economy not only in the northern regions of Croatia but also throughout the country. Our farmers are particularly affected by market turbulence, which is why we recognize the importance of continuous investment in the successful cooperation we have established with them for many years. We base it on mutual trust and timely recognize opportunities for improvements, so we always strive to respond best to market demands. The current increase in the purchase price of milk for our suppliers means 25 lipa more per liter of cow’s milk – said the CEO of Vindija Nenad Klepač.
Varaždin’s Vindija supplies milk to the entire market of Croatia daily, as well as to the region and parts of the European Union, and the milk 'z bregov has been the number 1 choice among consumers in Croatia for many years.
