A crowdfunding campaign has started on Croinvest to raise funds for assistance to Ukraine

Ukrainians in their homeland and in exile need increasing assistance from the world day by day. Caritas of the Križevci Eparchy launched a crowdfunding campaign Heart Fully with Ukraine on Friday in Croatia. The campaign was initiated on the crowdfunding platform Croinvest. Citizens can make their donations in kuna and cryptocurrencies. The first goal of the campaign is to raise three hundred thousand kuna.

Caritas of the Križevci Eparchy assists refugees from Ukraine who have arrived in Croatia, but the collected financial resources will also be directed to those in need in Ukraine.

– The situation in Ukraine is becoming increasingly difficult. A large number of refugees are arriving from the east of the country, and in the west, hospitals in Lviv are running out of medicines, medical supplies, and blood stocks. We are in contact with the Embassy of Ukraine in Zagreb and with priests in Ukraine. We receive firsthand information about the severity of the situation on the ground from them. We ask citizens to join our humanitarian action, and we will redirect their donations to those most in need – said Nenad Krajačić, director of Caritas of the Križevci Eparchy.

The first funds raised by the crowdfunding campaign will be sent to the Basilian monastery in Lviv, where more than a hundred refugees from cities occupied by the Russian army and those under its constant fire are currently housed.

– I ask our fellow citizens to remember the Homeland War and the needs that children, the elderly, the sick, the hungry, and those who have lost their homes have during the war. I ask them for solidarity with the people of Ukraine and to help them materially as much as they can, with love. Every kuna of assistance to Ukrainians is truly valuable now – said Milan Stipić, bishop of the Križevci Eparchy.
