The A1 STEMFemme program was symbolically presented on the occasion of International Women’s Day and is intended specifically for women, namely female students in their final years of STEM faculties (FER, FESB, FERIT, TVZ, FOI, FPZ, and PMF Mathematics) who have the opportunity to gain experience at A1 Croatia over three months and work on concrete projects using the latest technologies with the support of a mentor. In addition, the students will receive paid internships and professional training, and they will be able to apply for the A1 Start internship program without prior checks, which offers them the opportunity for a longer stay in the company, as stated in the announcement.
They will gain experience working with tools and programming languages such as Power BI, SQL, advanced Excel, Python, and R. They will also become familiar with data analytics and work in an international environment.
Applications for the A1 STEMFemme competition are open until March 16. The program will start on April 18 and will last until the end of June 2022.
Diversity in the workplace is one of the sustainability goals of A1 Croatia. The company employs 44 percent women and 56 percent men, and the ratio in managerial positions is 37:63 percent in favor of men. Despite the fact that STEM professions are still predominantly male, at A1 Croatia, as many as 80 percent of women work in advanced analytics roles. Likewise, 71 percent of women in the company are engaged in advanced business analysis and IT architecture, and they also hold leading managerial positions within the technical sector, such as in data science, ICT infrastructure, and network and IT services management.
