Green Your Environment with INA’s Green Belt!

INA is once again helping you green the environment in which you live and preserve the climate. If you have a great idea on how to do this, take advantage of the co-financing opportunity that INA offers through its Green Belt program. Projects and ideas that contribute to environmental protection and climate preservation can be submitted within the competition, which is open until March 31 at midnight, according to the announcement.

The Green Belt program is intended for all civil society organizations, public and educational institutions, nature parks, and volunteer fire departments in Croatia. In this way, 123 projects have been realized in recent years, which INA co-financed with more than 2.5 million kuna, and an area larger than 98,000 m² has been greened. This year, the Green Belt will pay special attention to projects dealing with climate change, and the decision on project selection will be made by INA’s expert committee, enhanced by experts in sustainable development. As in previous years, one project will be selected by INA’s fans on Facebook.

– INA pays great attention to sustainable development and helping communities realize their projects. Our Green Belt program has been recognized by many, and in partnership with INA, they have realized their ecological projects. This year, we look forward to new collaborations that will make the environment we share greener – said Tamara Karagity, Director of Corporate Communications and Marketing at INA.

INA has declared and additionally awarded the best realized projects of the Green Belt in 2020 and 2021. The project of the association Smile for All ‘The Forest Brings Us Together – Integration of Users of the Stančić Center and the Local Population’ stood out in 2020.

– Thanks to the Green Belt, the forest owned by the Stančić Rehabilitation Center has breathed fully. In accordance with environmental preservation guidelines, 80 m³ of bulky waste was disposed of, paths were arranged, benches were installed… The beneficiaries of the Center received the opportunity for integration and meeting with the local population, which is extremely important for them – said Marijana Jergović, President of the Association Smile for All.

The best realized project of the Green Belt in 2021 was the project of the HGSS Station Vinkovci ‘Eco Action – Cleaning the Banja Swimming Area’.

– The project was realized in collaboration with HGSS Vinkovci and the Vinkovci Diving Club, where we cleaned the Banja swimming area of small and large waste in three cleaning actions. Without the Green Belt, we would not have been able to finance this action with appropriate equipment and quality. I invite everyone to respond to INA’s call, as a good idea will always be recognized – said Zlatko Becić, Head of the HGSS Station Vinkovci.

INA’s Green Belt program has been included as an example of good practice in the Global Sustainable Development Report for 2018 as it directly contributes to the preservation of life on Earth, one of the 17 Global Goals for Sustainable Development of the United Nations.
