The largest Croatian confectioner recorded revenue and profit growth last year

With the business results for 2021, Kraš Group confirmed the continuation of positive trends and business growth in all segments, as stated in the announcement. Consolidated total revenues amounted to 1.08 billion kuna, which is an increase of 40.4 million kuna, or 3.9 percent compared to the previous year. After covering total operating expenses, profit before tax was achieved in the amount of 38.2 million kuna, which is an increase of 12.9 million kuna, or 50.7 percent more than in 2020. Net profit increased compared to 2020 by 4.9 million kuna, or 19.4 percent, amounting to 30 million kuna. Net profit attributed to equity holders of Matica was achieved in the amount of 30 million kuna, as announced today in the company’s financial reports on the Zagreb Stock Exchange.

Sales revenues and volumes also grew

Sales revenues in 2021 amounted to 1,048.6 million kuna, with an increase of 79.5 million kuna, or 8.2 percent compared to 2020. Other operating revenues amounted to 25.3 million kuna, and financial revenues to 8.9 million kuna. 

In the domestic market, Kraš Group achieved sales revenues of 581.5 million kuna, thus increasing them by 10.8 percent compared to the previous year. Abroad, sales revenues amounted to 467.1 million kuna, or 5.1 percent more than in the previous year.

The total sales volume is 36,917 tons, which is an increase of 1,983 tons, or 5.7 percent more than sales in 2020. In this context, domestic market growth was 3.5 percent, while export markets saw an increase of 8.3 percent. Thus, Kraš Group, despite the ongoing pandemic and all economic consequences of this global crisis, achieved better sales results in the domestic and most export markets.

Sales grew in all categories and components of Kraš Group

When viewed by categories, the largest sales growth of 8.5 percent was achieved in the cocoa products group, which continues to be a generator of revenue growth. The candy products group achieved a sales growth of 8.1 percent, and growth was also recorded in the flour products group, which includes cookies, wafers, and Kraš’s salty assortment, by 4.6 percent across all factories. Thus, the Cookie and Wafer Factory recorded a growth in this category of 3.6 percent, Mira Prijedor by 11 percent, and Karolina Osijek, which was merged with the parent company at the beginning of this year, by 1.2 percent.

EBITDA of 116.3 million kuna

Total consolidated expenses in Kraš Group in 2021 increased by 2.7 percent compared to 2020, amounting to 1,044.6 million kuna. EBITDA was achieved in the amount of 116.3 million kuna, while the EBITDA margin is 10.8 percent. Overall, in 2021, Kraš Group achieved an increase in its business activity through growth in operating revenues, growth in quantitative and value sales, and growth in production.
