In addition to purchasing Bored Ape NFT, Adidas launches its own NFT collection

Adidas Originals has announced the upcoming launch of its NFT collection titled Into the Metaverse.

Although details about the offering are scarce at this time, it has been revealed that there will be an access token, promising owners exclusive access to future goods, physical and digital products and services, rewards within the newly acquired parcel in the video game Sandbox, and much more.

The sale of the collection will begin through the company’s official website on December 17 at a price of 0.2 ether, which corresponds to approximately $790 at the time of writing.

Adidas Originals announced its entry into the metaverse on December 2, partnering with Bored Ape Yacht Club, GMoney, and PUNKS Comic, stating that the digital worlds that make up the metaverse will be places where everyone can express their most original ideas and be the most authentic version of themselves.

Additionally, it was revealed that Adidas purchased Bored Ape #8774 on September 17 for 46 ether, just over $150,000 at that time.

Following the announcement, the Bored Ape was displayed in Adidas gear featuring the logos of the three partners, as well as a flipped Adidas logo.

Noted NFT influencer GMoney commented on his role in supporting brands’ entry into the space in a culturally conscious manner.

– I have been talking to them since April, helping guide them in their strategy, providing feedback on ideas, to ensure they enter the space in a truly authentic way. And I think we are now seeing how that is playing out, as Adidas has had the most authentic entry into the space so far – said GMoney.

In recent months, numerous established corporations and cultural influencers have expressed their intentions to develop or participate within the NFT space, as the opportunities of Web 3.0 become increasingly evident.

On Tuesday, Adidas’s direct competitor Nike introduced its entry into the NFT space by acquiring the virtual sneaker brand RTKFT.
