Kids over the age of eight can now drive their own – Tesla. Namely, Elon Musk’s company has launched the Cyberquad for Kids, whose design is inspired by the all-terrain electric quad. The small children’s vehicle can reach speeds of up to 16 kilometers per hour (10 mph) and can travel a maximum of 25 kilometers. Compared to other Tesla vehicles, these figures are modest, but quite impressive for a toy. The same can be said for the price of $1,900 that parents will have to shell out for a vehicle that, according to the description on the official website, must be for children older than eight years to drive the Cyberquad.
Delay of the Cybertruck
Additionally, the company announced that the first deliveries will begin in two to four weeks and that it cannot guarantee that the children’s vehicles will arrive at home addresses by the holidays. The Cyberquad was originally introduced in 2019 alongside Tesla’s Cybertruck. During the presentation, it was stated that the vehicle would be sold alongside the Cybertruck, but production has since stalled, having been pushed from 2021 to 2022.
Last week, Tesla announced on Twitter that it would inform the public about updates regarding this new model of electric vehicle in January next year and described this year as a 'nightmare for the supply chain'. Therefore, while it is still awaited when the adult versions of the Cyberquad and Cybertruck will arrive in showrooms, customers will be able to purchase their mini versions for kids.
