The region is small, and we are competing with multinational companies, and if we do not have automation and modern technology, we cannot compete with them, nor can we access broader markets. We realized this long ago. Last month, I visited the Middle East, and just in Saudi Arabia, we agreed on a deal worth five million euros for just one item. Therefore, opportunities for export beyond the region exist – said the CEO of Kraš Slavko Ledić at the beginning of the 34th Lider Exporters’ Club hosted by the company.
Kraš generates half of its revenue from exports, and this year it celebrates 110 years of its 'sweet story,' as Ledić put it, which he added will be marked in December. The editor-in-chief of Lider, Miodrag Šajatović, opening the conference, stated that the export value of the members of the Lider Exporters’ Club exceeds two billion euros.
The main guest of the Exporters’ Club is the governor of HNB, Boris Vujčić, who will present the national plan for the replacement of the kuna with the euro and HNB’s estimates of economic growth this year and next year. The deputy editor-in-chief, Manuela Tašler, will present the export control points and assessments of the export climate, after which a discussion among participants is planned.
