As part of the first day of Lider’s 'International Conference on Controlling in Croatia' held today in a virtual environment, a trio from Orbico Group Croatia shared their story about the challenges of controlling and the transition to group reporting within the company. Romina Orešković, Chief Financial Officer, Nikolina Bašić, controlling manager, and Leo Rupčić, BI reporting manager, together explained the process the group underwent, including the challenges they faced in implementing controlling and reporting.
Orešković emphasized that numerous companies are currently working on implementing various tools to elevate their reporting system to a better level, and in their case, the biggest challenge was that they are a company operating in different fields. Given that it is difficult to align all categories in controlling, when they prepare reports for each category, they need to have a specific solution.
For them, the complex transition process involved standardizing data, storing it, and providing a group dimension to the data as the goal was to unify all companies in the group. The obstacles they encountered included different systems, various applications, data storage systems, and even disorder among the data.
