The operations of Hrvatska poštanska banka in the first nine months of 2021 were marked by record results with a net profit of 207 million kuna, representing a growth of 25.5 percent compared to the same period last year, as stated in HPB’s press release.
Operating profit amounts to 277 million kuna, which is 22.6 percent higher than in the same period last year, influenced by a successful extended tourist season and the recovery of economic activities in the country.
So far in 2021, strong organic growth has been achieved with an asset increase of 9.2 percent, which as of September 30 amounts to 27.9 billion kuna. The Bank’s position has continued to strengthen through greater efficiency in risk and interest profiles, while the level of NPLs is the lowest in the last five years.
The Bank has continued to strongly support the Croatian economy even under pandemic conditions, and the market share of the SME segment in Hamag Bicro guarantee schemes is significantly above the Bank’s market share: 36 percent in tourism and sports, 39 percent in culture and media, and 70 percent in maritime, transport, and infrastructure as of September 30, 2021.
The increase in loans in the household segment is supported by a 14.7 percent increase in housing loans, continuing a stable positive trend. Additionally, the Bank continuously participates in the APN subsidized loan program, with an approval of an additional 270 million kuna in the last, sixth round.
HPB continues to strengthen its digital business, with the volume of transactions through internet banking increasing by 25.8 percent, and through mobile banking by 51.2 percent compared to the same period in 2020.
