Freshman Day and the Start of Orientation Week at EFOS Marked

On Monday, Freshman Day was marked at the Faculty of Economics in Osijek, which also marked the beginning of the now traditional orientation week for freshmen. The Faculty of Economics in Osijek has been organizing this event for the eighth consecutive year to provide freshmen with a pleasant introduction to student life and academic obligations.

To help freshmen better get to know their colleagues and the faculty itself, after the introductory information, there was a social gathering and a tour of the Faculty building in the company of senior students and faculty assistants. In addition to today’s celebration of their day, freshmen can expect a multitude of interesting orientation workshops throughout the week, about which all information can be found on the official faculty website.

Freshman Day, and thus the orientation week, was opened yesterday at 10 a.m. with an introductory speech by the Dean, Prof. Dr. Boris Crnković, after which successful EFOS alumnus Jurica Barać, better known as the director of the Panonian Challenge, delivered a motivational speech. The program was traditionally led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ljerka Sedlan König, who introduced freshmen to the professors of the first study year and the opportunities they can achieve during their academic education.

Freshmen were most looking forward to meeting new colleagues while socializing and touring the Faculty building in the company of their senior colleagues and faculty assistants. Additionally, the Faculty of Economics in Osijek this year for the first time awarded its freshmen an academic passport and etiquette, which will certainly serve as a valuable companion on their academic journey.

The most interesting part of today’s introductory day was certainly the orientation information hunt, with which the interesting facts do not stop. On the contrary, in the rest of this week, freshmen can expect a rich schedule of workshops that will be held until Friday, where various student associations of the Faculty, the Student Center, extracurricular activities will be presented, and a plethora of useful and interesting information will be provided. A detailed program is available on the official EFOS website.
