A Trio of Developers from the PISMO Incubator Released Their First Sports Video Game

Starting today, the video game titled VR Summer Sports is available for sale on the global platform Steam. This is the first sports VR game to emerge from the PISMO Entrepreneurial Incubator powered by A1, and it has been released for the global market, as stated in the announcement. In this VR game, players can participate in 10 summer Olympic sports, and as the authors Saša, Luka, and Nenad say, they chose VR because it would not be interesting to play on controllers or other PC peripherals.

The trio Nenad Fijala, Saša Kumpović, and Luka Drozdek immediately after completing their video game development education in Novska opened their gaming studios and began working on this game. Over time, they paused its development, but after three years, it finally saw the light of day. The authors, gathered under the name Flamboyant Entertainment, continue to work together, and they consider this the beginning of a successful career in the gaming world.

– We noticed that there are not many games themed around summer Olympic sports; winter Olympic sports are more represented, so we focused on rowing, shooting, swimming, running, javelin throw, and long jump. Also, in this game, since it is VR, there are physical activities, and we assume that parents will want to buy this game for their children – said Kumpović.

– This game is made for the US market, and we expect the most downloads from there. Over 50 million VR headsets have been sold worldwide, and everyone who has such equipment can play this game. The goal is for 5,000 players to purchase the game in the first year – said Drozdek.

According to Nenad Fijala, their journey has not been easy, but thanks to what the center of the Croatian gaming industry offers, they have succeeded.

– We are grateful to everyone who helped us, from the PISMO incubator, the City of Novska, the Sisak-Moslavina County, the Croatian Employment Service… Without financial support, this would not have been possible – said Fijala.

Congratulations were extended by Marin Piletić, the mayor of Novska, Jadranka Kraljić and Vlatka Weiss from the Department of Economy of SMŽ, Frane Šesnić from the Zagreb Innovation Center ZICER, Gordana Gaćeša from the Croatian Olympic Committee, and the director of the Development Agency SIMORA Mario Čelan who has been following the work of this trio from the very beginning.

– I am really proud of them, and I congratulate them. This opens the way for everything that follows. No world-renowned company has succeeded in the first week of operation; they needed weeks and weeks. These guys know that, and they also know that they will always have our support! – said Čelan.

The honor of pressing the publish button was given to athletes, representatives of Croatia at the last Olympic Games held in Tokyo, Ana Gradečak and Miranu Maričiću.
