Good tourist season ‘revived’ the business of telecom operators

This year’s tourist season is better and more successful in many ways compared to last year, and our telecom operators are also recording better results this year. Compared to last year, the results for Hrvatski Telekom are almost 30 percent better in the period from July 1 to August 15 of this year, and as reported by A1, during July and August they are recording a 71 percent increase in data transfer and a 75 percent increase in roaming, compared to last year.

– During the summer season, the number of users utilizing the Hrvatski Telekom network increases significantly, primarily due to the arrival of tourists, and to maintain high service quality during the tourist season, it is essential to continuously invest in the telecommunications network and capacities, especially in tourist centers – stated Hrvatski Telekom.

Hrvatski Telekom was the first in Croatia to sign 5G roaming agreements in collaboration with Magyar Telekom and Deutsche Telekom during June and July of this year, ensuring that Croatian users in Hungary and Germany, as well as Hungarian and German users in Croatia, can benefit from the 5G network. Additionally, they emphasize that Hrvatski Telekom continues to set industry standards by enabling gigabit speeds in numerous cities across Croatia, allowing users to enjoy a new era of 5G mobile network evolution. With 600 5G base stations, of which ultra-high speeds are available at 149 locations.

A1 Hrvatska has also installed additional radio equipment at 240 locations on the Adriatic before the season and provided additional capacities that improve quality and user experience at the most congested locations on the advanced LTE Advanced Pro A1 network.

– We have also enabled 5G at the most visited locations on the Adriatic during this season, as well as in other places in Croatia. Thus, users with compatible devices had their first true gigabit experience in the mobile network. Along with all county centers, 20 in total, and the City of Zagreb, locals and tourists can surf on the A1 5G network in some tourist centers such as: Dubrovnik, Šibenik, Split, Pula, Zadar, Rijeka, Biograd na Moru, Trogir, Kaštela, and Vodice. We are planning capacities for 2022 – concluded A1.
