Last week, the value of fiscalized invoices increased by 36 percent

In all sectors of the fiscalization system, last week the value of fiscalized invoices increased by 36 percent compared to the comparable week in 2020, and by 11 percent compared to the same period in 2019, according to data released by the Tax Administration on Monday. From August 16 to 22, the total value of fiscalized invoices in all sectors reached six billion kuna, which is 1.6 billion kuna or 36 percent more than in the same period last year.

At the same time, the number of issued invoices increased by 22 percent, to 56.4 million. In the most important sector of the fiscalization system – wholesale and retail trade, repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles, the number of invoices increased by 20 percent year-on-year, and their value increased by 19 percent. Last week, 31.9 million invoices were fiscalized in trade, with a value reaching 3.3 billion kuna.

In hospitality and tourism, i.e., the accommodation and food preparation and serving sector, the number of fiscalized invoices was also 20 percent higher, totaling 10.5 million, while their value increased by 83 percent, to 1.6 billion kuna. The Tax Administration also provided a comparison of last week this year with the same period of the pre-pandemic year 2019, showing that a total of five percent fewer invoices were issued, but their value was higher by 11 percent.

In trade, last week compared to the same week in 2019, the number of invoices was one percent lower, while their value was eight percent higher. In hospitality and tourism, however, last week compared to the same week in 2019, there was a 15 percent decrease in the number of fiscalized invoices, but at the same time, their value increased by 20 percent.

The value of fiscalized invoices decreased by two percent on a weekly basis

The Tax Administration’s statistics on a weekly basis, from August 16 to 22 compared to the week from August 9 to 15 this year, show that there was a one percent decrease in the total number of invoices in the fiscalization system, and a two percent decrease in their amounts.

In trade, the number of invoices remained the same on a weekly basis, while their amount decreased by two percent. In hospitality and tourism, the number of fiscalized invoices was three percent lower, and their value decreased by four percent.

From February 22 to August 22, the value of invoices increased by 21.5 billion kuna

The first case of coronavirus in Croatia was recorded on February 25 last year, so tax officials also present cumulative data from February 22 to August 22 this year compared to the period from February 24 to August 23, 2020, indicating that this year the number of fiscalized invoices increased by 26 percent, and their amount by 25 percent or by 21.5 billion kuna.

Namely, in all sectors from February 22 to August 22 this year, a total of 1.15 billion invoices were fiscalized, with a total amount of 106.9 billion kuna. In trade, the number of invoices also increased by 26 percent, to 712.6 million, while their value jumped by 17 percent, to 70.7 billion kuna.

In hospitality and tourism, 153.6 million invoices were fiscalized, which is a 16 percent year-on-year increase, and their value increased by 64 percent, to 15.4 billion kuna. A comparison with the same period of the pre-crisis year 2019 shows that this year the number of fiscalized invoices decreased by nine percent, while their amount increased by one percent.

In wholesale and retail trade, repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles, the number of invoices in the period from February 22 to August 22, 2021, compared to February 25 to August 25, 2019, saw two percent fewer invoices fiscalized, but their value increased by five percent. Hospitality and tourism, however, compared to the pre-pandemic year still record significant declines with a 34 percent lower number of invoices and a 14 percent lower amount of those invoices.
