Best in Parking: Austrians Acquire Complementary Companies

Austrian Best in Parking, which is engaged in the management of public garages and parking lots, has begun acquiring companies complementary to its core business. It has acquired the IT company Rao, which deals with parking payment and ticketing, as well as Paydo services, which offers IT solutions for mobile payments in the field of public services: parking, transportation, ticketing. Previously, through its eponymous Croatian company Best in Parking, it acquired the Varaždin-based Crtorad, which, among other things, deals with traffic signaling and the organization and collection of parking fees.

Rao was acquired from Andrija Pavičić and Zoran Uzelac, who remains in the director’s position along with Anton Mužić, while Nikola Pejković is no longer a director. Paydo services were acquired from Borivoj Sirovica and Boris Vuković, who were directors along with Mario Hegeduš. Instead, the company is now managed by the head of the parent Austrian group Best in Parking & Real Estate Johann Breiteneder, who also oversees operations in Croatia, along with proxies Alen Zulfikarpašić and Ibrica Zulfikarpašić. The same management has been established in Crtorad, acquired from Toma Ježovita, who was also the director, and the headquarters has been relocated from Jalkovac (Varaždin) to Zagreb.

Best in Parking manages approximately 73,000 parking spaces at 168 locations in Austria, Italy, Croatia, Switzerland, Slovenia, and Slovakia. The company’s headquarters are in Vienna and Milan. In Croatia, it has 17 garages and parking lots with 6,921 parking spaces. In Zagreb, it manages five garages (Centar Branimir, Centar Kaptol, Petrinjska, Cvjetni, and Sky Office) and a parking lot in Palmotićeva, while it has four facilities in Rijeka and Varaždin, and one each in Dubrovnik, Đurđevac, and Ludbreg. The parent Croatian company Best in Parking achieved 61 million kuna in revenue last year and reported a profit of 1.7 million kuna. However, together with about 15 related companies, the group had over 106 million kuna in revenue (which would place it among the 1,000 largest companies in Croatia), and the profit rises to nearly 9.5 million kuna.
