At the end of June, there were 205,402 employees in crafts and freelance professions in Croatia, which is an increase of 5.1 percent or 10,046 people more than at the end of May, according to data from the Croatian Bureau of Statistics (DZS).
Specifically, the number of employees in crafts amounted to 187,176, which is an increase of 5.7 percent or 10,133 employees more than in May, while the number of employees in freelance professions was 18,226, which is 87 people less than at the end of May.
Statistics show that the increase in the number of employees was achieved in 18 areas of activity, ranging from 0.1 percent in construction to 21.6 percent in the accommodation and food service activities.
A decrease in the number of employees, by 0.9 percent, was present in the area of public administration and defense; compulsory social security.
Statistics by activity show that the highest number of employees was in crafts in the manufacturing industry, which employed 26,140 workers at the end of June, an increase of 1.5 percent compared to the end of May.
Following in the number of employees are crafts in hospitality and tourism with 33,325 employees (21.5 percent more), then construction with 23,352 employees (0.09 percent more), and 23,350 employees were also in crafts and freelance professions in trade, which is a monthly increase of 6.4 percent.
The number of employees increased in 20 counties, ranging from 0.1 percent in Varaždin County and Požega-Slavonia County to 15.5 percent in Šibenik-Knin County. In Zagreb County, the number of employees remained at the level from May, according to DZS data.
