The value of fiscalized invoices increased by 32 percent compared to the same week last year

In all sectors of the fiscalization system, the value of fiscalized invoices increased by 32 percent compared to the comparable week of 2020, and by 11 percent compared to the same period in 2019, according to data released by the Tax Administration on Monday.

During the period from July 26 to August 1, the total value of fiscalized invoices in all sectors reached nearly 5.7 billion kuna, which is about 1.4 billion kuna or 32.1 percent more than in the same period last year. At the same time, the number of issued invoices increased by 20.7 percent, to 55.4 million.

In the most important sector of the fiscalization system – wholesale and retail trade, repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles, 31.4 million invoices were fiscalized last week, which is 20 percent more than at the same time in 2020. The amount of fiscalized invoices in trade, on the other hand, increased by almost 19 percent, to 3.2 billion kuna.

In hospitality and tourism, or the activity of providing accommodation and preparing and serving food, there were 13 percent more fiscalized invoices, or 10.3 million, while their value increased by 70 percent, to over 1.5 billion kuna. The Tax Administration also provided a comparison of last week this year with the same period of the pre-pandemic 2019, and these data show that a total of two percent fewer invoices were issued, but their value was simultaneously higher by 11 percent.

In trade, the number of invoices remained the same last week compared to the same week in 2019, but their value increased by eight percent. In hospitality and tourism, however, last week compared to the same week of the pre-pandemic 2019, there was a decrease in the number of fiscalized invoices by 12 percent, but at the same time, their value increased by 20 percent.

The Tax Administration’s statistics on a weekly basis, during the period from July 26 to August 1 compared to the week from July 19 to July 25 this year, show that there was a total increase in the number of invoices in the fiscalization system by two percent, and their amounts by four percent.

In trade, the number of invoices on a weekly basis increased by one percent, and their amounts by two percent, while in hospitality and tourism, the number of fiscalized invoices increased by four percent, and their value by 13 percent. From February 22 to August 1, the value of invoices increased by 16.88 billion kuna.

The first case of coronavirus in Croatia was recorded on February 25 last year, so tax officials also present cumulative data – from February 22 to August 1 this year compared to the period from February 24 to August 2, 2020, according to which the number of fiscalized invoices this year is higher by 27 percent, and their amount by 23 percent or 16.88 billion kuna.

Namely, in all sectors during the period from February 22 to August 1 this year, a total of 986.7 million invoices were fiscalized, with a total amount of 89.03 billion kuna. In trade, the number of invoices increased by 27 percent, to 618.6 million, and the amount by 17 percent, to 60.8 billion kuna.

In hospitality and tourism, 121.7 million invoices were fiscalized, which is an annual increase of 15 percent, and their value increased by 60 percent, to 10.45 billion kuna. A comparison with the same period of the pre-crisis 2019 shows that this year the number of fiscalized invoices decreased by 10 percent, and their amount by one percent.

In wholesale and retail trade, repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles, the number of invoices in the period from February 22 to August 1, 2021, compared to February 25 to August 4, 2019, fiscalized two percent fewer invoices, but the total amount on them is four percent higher. Hospitality and tourism, on the other hand, compared to the pre-pandemic year still record significant declines with 38 percent fewer invoices and 25 percent lower amounts of those invoices.
