Opened more than 15,000 Franck Beestro franchises for endangered bee communities

With the support of the Croatian Beekeeping Association, Franck has launched a valuable project aimed at raising awareness about the importance of bees for life on Earth and encouraging the public to take action. Thus, Franck Beestro project has become recognized by consumers in just two and a half months as a valuable and simple way to reconnect with nature. To date, more than 15,000 Beestros with honey plants and flowers for bees have been opened.

Agriculture worldwide depends on bees, which are a crucial link in the pollination of about 75 percent of food products, but unfortunately, their numbers are decreasing due to the reduction of green spaces and the lack of honey plants. To help bee communities, Franck has designed Beestro container, which can be planted with honey flowers and herbs, thus becoming a food source for bees, as well as a decoration on balconies, windows, or in gardens.

Franck Beestro is a tin container featuring an illustration by one of the best young Croatian visual artists Vedran Klemens, along with seeds of honey plants and two boxes of fine Franck tea. All that needs to be done is to remove the tea packaging from the container, add potting soil to the Beestro, and sow the seeds that come in the package; with enough light and a little care, the container will become a valuable food source for bees.

– At Franck, we are guided by principles of sustainability and responsibility that we apply in our daily work, including projects like Franck Beestro, in which we strive to actively involve our consumers. It is especially gratifying that we can use our position as a leader in the tea category to raise awareness about the role of bees in protecting ecosystems and biodiversity. Every step, even the smallest one, that we can take towards protecting biodiversity is worth the effort. . We thank more than 15,000 Franck Beestro customers who have contributed to the protection of bees and thus the world we live in, “said Draga Žulj, Senior Brand Manager at Franck.

As part of the project, Franck employees donated their time and joined forces with volunteers from the Green and Blue Sesvete association and the ecological initiative Cleaning Teddy Bears to beautify a neglected meadow in Sesvete for the residents of that area and restore the former glory of the otherwise honey-producing environment. This is the Zagreb district with the largest forest area, making it perfect for planting honey plants.

Franck strives to ensure that the company’s business operations do not encroach on the ecosystems and communities in which it operates and provides necessary support to suppliers in resilience to climate impacts in line with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. Among the company’s priority goals are sustainable consumption and production aimed at protecting natural resources and climate protection. One of the ways it achieves this is through active participation in the coffee&climate initiative with the vision of empowering farmers for effective adaptation and response to climate change that significantly affects the availability and quality of coffee.

Anyone wishing to obtain their copy of Franck Beestro and thus join a community that counts several thousand members across Croatia can do so by purchasing it on the Franck webshop and in larger format stores.
