Summer Tax Academy Held

The jubilee, fifth edition of the Summer Tax Academy lasted five days during which more than thirty teaching hours of lectures and workshops were held, allowing students to expand their knowledge of finance and taxation, and they had the opportunity to comment and discuss with eminent tax and finance experts. In addition to the newly acquired knowledge, experiences, and connections, they earned two ECTS credits, and those who distinguished themselves with their commitment and ideas were given the opportunity to undertake an internship at EY Croatia.

This year, the Summer Tax Academy particularly focused on the importance of EU laws and guidelines, during which students learned more about identifying tax fraud by multinational companies, among other topics. The planning and program development emphasized once again that, in addition to economics students (majoring in finance, accounting, business analysis, and planning), colleagues from other faculties can also participate in the program.

– Every year we are delighted to see more students applying and actively participating in the Academy, which is an opportunity for learning and development, as well as for meeting new colleagues and lecturers who are top experts. With the Summer Tax Academy, we have created an additional platform for the training and preparation of future professionals, thus facilitating their entry into the world of finance and taxation. It is a logical continuation of our long-standing efforts to bring the topic of taxation closer to students who are starting their careers in this field. We encourage their interest in new trends and knowledge and motivate them to create solutions for the future by developing their own ideas – said Maša Šarić, partner at EY Croatia and initiator of the Academy.
