According to the report on the state of utilization of ESI funds in Croatia, from the entry into the EU until July 15 of this year, Croatia has withdrawn 42.3 billion kuna more than it has contributed to that budget.
From the European Structural and Investment Funds (ESIF) for the period 2014 – 2020, Croatia has a total of 10.7 billion euros (81.56 billion kuna) at its disposal, as shown by data published on Thursday by the Ministry of Regional Development and EU Funds.
By July 15 of this year, projects worth 13.04 billion euros (99.1 billion kuna) have been contracted. A total of 6.2 billion euro (47.12 billion kuna) has been paid, which is 57.8 percent of the allocated funds, and 5.2 billion euro (39.4 billion kuna) have been certified, or 48.3 percent of the allocated funds.
Compared to data from June 30, 2020, 2.8 billion euros (22.3 billion kuna) have been contracted, 2.2 billion euros (17.2 billion kuna) have been paid, and 1.87 billion euros (14.5 billion kuna) have been certified.
In percentage terms, Croatia has increased from 95.4 percent of contracted to 121.47 percent, from 37.17 percent of paid to 57.77 percent, and from 30.81 percent of certified to 48.26 percent.
The Operational Program for Competitiveness and Cohesion has the best percentage of contracted funds at 130.7 percent of the total available allocation, while the best percentage of paid funds is recorded by the Rural Development Program, at 74.8 percent of the allocated funds.
