After HŽ Cargo announced at the end of last year that it is embarking on the modernization of its fleet and signed a contract with Siemens for the rental of one locomotive, as well as announced plans to rent three more this year, another company from the domestic railway transport system, HŽ Passenger Transport, has announced that it is offering its locomotives for rent. Locomotives from four series are available for rent, and it is possible to conclude a long-term or short-term rental agreement. Daily usage will cost between 1900 and 1400 euros, with a slightly lower price for permanent leasing, and the lessee bears the costs of fuel and electricity. It is unknown whether any of these options will be of interest to HŽ Cargo. Freight transport requires somewhat stronger locomotives, so it is very likely that Cargo will conclude a rental agreement for locomotives with someone else.
