The fact that Sisak-Moslavina County is third in drawn funds for rural development in Croatia is confirmed by the new success that comes through the results of the call for Measure 4.4.'Support for non-productive investments related to achieving the goals of agriculture, the environment, and climate change' – the implementation of operation type 4.4.1. 'Non-productive investments related to environmental preservation' from which the Family Farm of Ivan Lujić from Stari Grabovac in Novska received the amount of 1,012,662.78 kuna, one hundred percent non-refundable from the Agency for Payments in Agriculture, Fisheries, and Rural Development.
Ivan Lujić has been engaged in agriculture for many years. He started working in 2006 by raising horses, then cows and calves, and later expanded production to crop farming, while now in Mlaca and Jablance in the area of the Municipality of Jasenovac and the protected area of the Lonjsko Polje Nature Park, he will clear agricultural land with a total area of 9.97 hectares. On the cleared and prepared land, he plans to sow grains and fodder crops.
– Until now, I have only received funds once, and that was in 2008 through the capital investment measure for the purchase of a tractor. It took more than ten years of work, but also gaining the courage to apply for some call. I believe this is a business move that will positively impact the development of my farm in the long term – said farmer Ivan Lujić, thanking the Development Agency SIMORA for preparing the documentation.
