Croatia Will Host the Largest Developer Event in Europe This Year – Infobip’s Shift Conference

Infobip, the leading IT company in Croatia and the region, announced today its plans for the upcoming Infobip Shift conference, which will take place on September 7 and 8 this year in Zadar at the Krešimir Ćosić Hall. The developer conference will gather over three thousand people over two days, making this edition the largest developer event in Europe this year.

After Infobip independently organized its own developer conference, DevDays, for many years, the acquisition of Shift has merged both conferences into one technology festival, featuring the best speakers from the developer world, totaling 60, from companies such as Microsoft, Google, Adobe, and many others. The Infobip Shift conference program will take place simultaneously on five stages, three of which are main stages, one dedicated to workshops, and the entire program will be rounded off by startups presenting their ideas and products at the Startup Tribe stage. Along with a rich conference program, time and space for networking and meetings have been secured, with a thousand square meters allocated in front of the hall.

After the founder and CEO of the Shift conference, Ivan Burazin, was appointed a member of the Management Board for Developer Experience at Infobip, his long-time collaborator Marin Tomičić was appointed project manager of the Infobip Shift conference.

– In just under two months, we are expecting something truly unprecedented in this region. The program will be opened and closed by Infobip co-founders Izabel Jelenić and Silvio Kutić. We have managed to secure the attendance of the world’s greatest speakers, such as David Heinemeier Hansson, the creator of the Ruby on Rails framework, as well as Val Head, who comes from the global IT giant Adobe. Of course, we have also taken care of the part of the conference that guarantees entertainment, so all visitors will be able to enjoy a unique afterparty after the program ends. A young and motivated team gathered around the organization of this event is working at full speed to meet the high expectations and trust – said Marin Tomičić, project manager of the Infobip Shift conference.

– Infobip has nearly 500 developers in offices in Vodnjan, Zagreb, Split, and Rijeka, coming from all parts of Croatia. Previous editions of the Shift conference were held in Split, while Infobip’s DevDays took place in Tuhelj. We decided to follow that rich distribution so that the Infobip Shift conference, starting this year, will tour the whole of Croatia without a fixed location. Our desire is for the conference to be held in a different location each year. This year’s edition will be held on the coast, in Zadar – added Tomičić.

The tenth anniversary edition of the conference will not only be larger than any previous Shift, but the entire experience of following the conference will reach an unprecedented level. From speakers, partners, and startups to organizational meetings and educational workshops – Infobip Shift will be the most influential developer event this year.

– My vision since 2012 has been to create the largest global developer conference, but also to strengthen Croatia’s connection with the global developer scene. Over the years, we have grown and moved closer to our goal. With Infobip, we have gained what we were missing – the support of a large company to give the local conference that global caliber and make it a leader – stated Ivan Burazin, member of the Management Board for Developer Experience at Infobip.
