Billionaire and one of the most popular media stars, Kim Kardashian West has landed another great deal. As she announced on her Instagram profile on Monday, the lingerie, pajamas, and loungewear from her brand Skims will be worn by the U.S. women’s sports team at the Tokyo Olympics. Kardashian claims to have always been impressed by the strength and energy of competitors, and her stepfather, successful triathlete and gold medalist Caitlyn (Bruce) Jenner, has spoken to her about the details of that famous sporting event.

For this occasion, the team from the Skims brand has designed a special collection featuring pieces of recognizable, minimalist design adorned with the American flag and the logo of the U.S. team. The faces of this collection, which guarantees comfort, include Paralympian Scout Basset, soccer player Alex Morgan, swimmer Haley Anderson, and athlete Dalilah Muhammad. The entire team will, of course, receive the collection for free, and it will be available to consumers on the opening day of the Olympics, July 23.
According to Forbes, Kardashian West launched Skims two years ago, and in April 2021, the company’s value was estimated at $1.6 billion after raising an additional $154 million in investments. Kardashian West, along with co-owner Jens Grede, holds a majority stake.
In addition to Skims, the media star holds a 75 percent stake in the cosmetics company KKW Beauty, which is valued at one billion dollars after Coty acquired 20 percent. The rest of her wealth comes from sponsorship and television contracts.
The talented businesswoman is not the only billionaire dressing the U.S. Olympic team. Ralph Lauren, whose wealth is estimated at nine billion dollars, has been designing for Team USA since 2008, and will continue that tradition this year at the opening and closing ceremonies of the Tokyo Games.
