It has been more than 70 years since Volkswagen introduced its first generation of T models, and the T1, popularly known as Bulli, now has its modern successor. The new generation of Volkswagen’s Multivan T7 comes with hybrid drive, is fully digitalized, and will be available on the market as early as next year. The spectrum of Bulli models will henceforth be divided into three pillars: the Multivan series, Transporter 6.1, and the serial versions of the fully electric model ID.BUZZ, which will be introduced from 2023.
Multi-Purpose Vehicle
The new Multivan proudly carries the role of a multi-purpose vehicle, and in the eHybrid version with plug-in hybrid drive, the Multivan becomes a zero-emission vehicle. With a trunk volume of 4053 liters, it is also suitable for transporting larger loads, and thanks to the highest trailer load of up to 2000 kg, Volkswagen’s Multivan becomes a true cargo vehicle. The Multivan will be offered to customers in a combination with seven seats in two variants, standard and extended. As mentioned earlier, the Multivan comes with a new plug-in hybrid system named eHybrid, with a total system power of 160 kW, or 218 hp. The battery has a capacity of 13 kWh and allows a range of 50 kilometers on a single charge.
