Mandatory pension funds (OMF) at the end of May this year had 2.07 million members, which is 37,600 more than a year earlier, while their assets increased by 12.8 billion kuna, exceeding 125 billion, according to data from the Croatian Financial Services Supervisory Agency (Hanfa).
Mandatory pension funds (OMF) at the end of May had 2.07 million members, which is 37,651 members more than at the end of May last year and 1,823 members more compared to the previous month.
The net assets of OMFs at the end of May amounted to 125.3 billion kuna, which is 12.8 billion or 11 percent more than a year earlier. Compared to the end of April, their net assets increased by 741 thousand kuna or 0.6 percent, according to the latest data from Hanfa.
Bond investments of OMFs at the end of May amounted to 79.8 billion kuna, representing 63.7 percent of their total assets. At the same time, the share of equity investments in the assets of OMFs amounted to 24.8 billion kuna or 19.8 percent of OMF assets. Among other forms of investment, investments in mutual funds stand out at 13.5 billion kuna or 10.8 percent of total assets, and investments in cash and deposits at 5.7 billion or 4.6 percent.
At the end of May, there were also eight open voluntary pension funds (ODMF) operating in Croatia, which had 340,332 members, and 20 closed voluntary pension funds (ZDMF), with 44,730 members.
The net assets of voluntary pension funds (DMF) in May reached 7.1 billion kuna, which is 1.03 billion or nearly 17 percent more than a year earlier. Compared to the end of April, their assets increased by 1.1 percent.
In the investments of DMFs, the largest part of the portfolio consists of bonds, with a share of 56.3 percent in total net assets, followed by equities with 25.7 percent and mutual funds with 10.9 percent.
