The World Association of Electric Vehicle Drivers Geva has been officially established and presented, bringing together 28 national associations from around the world, including the Croatian “Strujni krug”, with the main goal of further globally promoting electric mobility.

As reported by Geva, their aim is to gather best practices and information from various electric vehicle driver associations and their members to help and inform each other, and to further encourage electric mobility worldwide. They also aim to promote that by 2030 all personal and light delivery vehicles be plug-in, that is, electric or hybrid.

Geva emphasizes that such goals are achievable, given the advancements in technology, and the transition to electric vehicles is further accelerated by incentives provided by numerous countries when purchasing electric vehicles.

Year after year, there is a significant increase in electric vehicle sales, many countries encourage their purchase, fuel taxes and gas emissions are frequently rising, and all green actions promote this type of mobility due to zero exhaust emissions.

Almost every country in the world has its own association or organization that promotes electric mobility and fights for the rights of current and future electric vehicle drivers, and even at the EU level, there is the association “Avere”, which provides the European Parliament with proposals for new laws on harmful gas emission standards such as EURO 6 and the upcoming EURO 7.

– During last year’s coronavirus pandemic, it was seen how harmful gas emissions can actually impact the environment, and with such a goal, they could be significantly reduced and even prevent climate change – state the founders of the new association.

One of the first joint activities of the global association will be participation in the United Nations Climate Change Conference COP26 in Glasgow this November.

Additionally, associations connected with the world association plan to organize special events in their countries and arrange a ‘rally’ drive to Scotland to promote electromobility as a crucial element in addressing climate change.
