Communication School of Melita Pavlek: How to Be Ready for Change

When you feel that life is happening to you, rather than for you, it is time for a true friendly, warm, fragrant coffee with yourself. Changes around us will never cease, but we can create three pillars that will help us feel satisfaction, peace, and joy even in turbulent times. However, to be ready for change, we must establish good habits in life. The most important for me are:

1. Optimistic Attitude

What is the story of your life and how do you tell it? You don’t have to share it with us, just with yourself. What you tell yourself about yourself is the only attitude you need to care about constantly. Because you know how it goes. What you seek, you will certainly find.

If you seek gratitude, joy, and peace within yourself, everything will conspire for you to find it. If you seek conflict, quarrels, and dissatisfaction, believe me, there is plenty of that too. Cut off the chain of negative thoughts and beliefs you support in time and consciously return to an optimistic attitude. No one said it was easy, but it is incredibly beneficial.

2. Clear Priorities

It is not hard to lose sight of the lighthouse when a storm is around us. However, just the idea that the lighthouse exists and that one day we will stand on it and observe the beautiful, peaceful horizon in a purple sunset is not just a romantic idea but a certain possibility.

Therefore, no matter how far you have strayed from your original story, keep the image of your ultimate goal in mind. This is important, and without it, it is easy to get lost. Think broader than daily situations and move towards your priorities. Today, it is quite clear that each of us needs to create our part of the universe and protect it. From others and from ourselves… occasionally.

3. Smile

You should always find a source of laughter. If you don’t find it in your surroundings, you are not paying enough attention. Laughter really shifts us into a positive and good mood in a minute, regardless of storms and winds.

So always have a concrete strategy for laughter with you – a recording of your favorite stand-up comedian, a conversation with a dear friend, or simply some funny series on television. Laughter fills our body with dopamine and pulls us out of the constant emotion of fear.

Choose a tool that will make every change your friend, because that is better than apocalyptic scenarios.
