The physical volume of construction work in April was 19.9 percent higher than in the same month last year, while it increased by 1.3 percent compared to March, according to preliminary data from the Croatian Bureau of Statistics published on Monday (DZS).
April marks the 11th consecutive month of growth in the volume of construction work on a year-on-year basis.
DZS data also shows that in April the volume of work performed on buildings was 21.1 percent higher compared to April 2020, and the volume of work on other constructions increased by 18.2 percent.
Compared to March, the volume of construction work on buildings decreased by 0.3 percent, while on other constructions it increased by 2.2 percent.
In April 61 percent of working hours on construction sites were spent on new construction, while 39 percent were on reconstructions, repairs, and maintenance.
On buildings, 51 percent of working hours were spent, and on other constructions, 49 percent.
