Who are the investors in ETFs on the Zagreb Stock Exchange

Recently, the assets of ETFs listed on the Zagreb Stock Exchange exceeded 50 million kuna. In light of this, the leading investment company in Croatia and Slovenia, InterCapital, decided to take a closer look at the structure of investors in ETFs:

• 300 investors have so far invested in 7SLO and 7CRO
• 3 out of 4 largest investors on the ZSE are invested in ETFs
• The majority of investors in both ETFs are small investors
• The median investment in the 7SLO ETF is around 20,000 kuna
• The median investment in the 7CRO ETF is around 12,000 kuna
• Small investors make up 60 percent of the 7SLO ETF (by market capitalization)
• Institutional investors make up 90 percent of the 7CRO ETF (by market capitalization)

From the above, InterCapital concludes that in addition to a very solid interest from small investors, ETFs are also recognized by so-called ‘smart money’. There is a continuous growing interest from both small and institutional clients, and an increasing number of investors confirms that this is a welcome refreshment on the Zagreb Stock Exchange.
