Antun Mikec, one of the founders of the VMD group, specialized in construction and real estate sales, ceased to serve as the director of the company as of June 1, and his son Neven Mikec, who has been one of the main faces of VMD, has been appointed to his position.
According to information from the company, this is a straightforward generational change. Namely, construction entrepreneur Antun Mikec has turned eighty and concluded that it is best for him to withdraw from operational business, so it is logical for the successor to take over the company’s operations, which has indeed happened.
However, Antun Mikec will not completely withdraw from business and will, as unofficially reported, engage in golf development in the Zagreb neighborhood of Blato under the auspices of Riverside Golf Zagreb. As stated by the VMD group, this change at the helm of the company does not change anything for their partners and suppliers. Everything remains as it was before, they say.
All ongoing VMD projects are progressing at the same pace, new projects are in preparation, there is no shortage of work, and the collaboration with Željko Vučemil, co-founder of the VMD group, who recently submitted an offer for the recapitalization of RIZ Odašiljači with his companies, will also remain the same. Otherwise, the VMD group has practically been divided between the Mikec and Vučemil families, with each managing their construction projects within the Group.
