The French regulator has imposed 220 million euros in fines on Google’s Alphabet for abusing its position in the online advertising market, the regulator announced on Monday.

The French regulator emphasized that this is the first fine of its kind in the world.

It reached a settlement with the American company, under which Google agreed to end some of its preferential practices in the complex automated online advertising business.
