Although study programs in Croatia are often criticized for lacking practical learning components, opportunities for gaining real work experience during studies do exist for the most ambitious. A testament to this is the creative collaboration between the Faculty of Economics in Zagreb and the Zagreb theater Luda Kuća. Namely, 14 teams of students worked for two semesters on a digital marketing plan for a real client, Luda Kuća, where the three best teams presented their creative solutions.
– You cannot make a project so lively without a quality client – emphasized Vatroslav Škare during the presentation, one of the leaders of the newly launched specialist graduate professional study of Digital Marketing at EFZG, under which the collaboration was realized.
Intrinsically motivated
The best work was declared to be the marketing plan of the student group named Pibs, Chips & Videoclips, but as Škare emphasized, the decision was made by nuances as all present students impressed with their work and effort.
All students received tickets for performances at Luda Kuća as gifts, along with EFZG gift packages. The third-placed team Zumiće was awarded 2000 kuna by Zagrebačka Banka, the second-placed group Loco’ Clock received 3000 kuna, and the winners were awarded 5000 kuna. Although the students were intrinsically motivated for this project, it is nice to be able to reward them, believes Škare.
