The SAS Global Forum is an annual conference dedicated to the latest trends in analytics and artificial intelligence. On this occasion, new developments from SAS, a leader in analytics, were announced that will determine the future direction of analytics in cloud technologies.
As part of a strategic partnership with Microsoft, SAS Viya was launched in November on the Microsoft Azure platform. SAS is now expanding support for Amazon Web Services and Google Cloud, with Red Hat OpenShift to be included during the year.
SAS is committed to enabling users to perform analytical operations where they store their data. According to forecasts from the analytics firm IDC, the growth of cloud technology usage will reach 23 percent by 2024.
„Cloud analytics is what our customers want“, said Jay Upchurch, SAS’s Chief Information Officer. „We are proud of our pioneering work with Microsoft. We also respect our customers’ need to choose another option, and we will help them leverage their cloud investments to strengthen their analytical ambitions“. Upchurch added that SAS Cloud operates on Microsoft Azure and has achieved a growth of 34 percent compared to the first quarter of last year.
During the past year, companies that have already implemented digital transformation have adapted more quickly to rapidly changing market conditions. Digital transformation requires analytics-based decision-making, and by expanding support for SAS Viya, users are given the choice and control to apply analytics anywhere and at any scale.
