Nanobit Records Growth in Game Downloads and Increasing Employees After Acquisition

Following the successful acquisition of Nanobit by the Swedish gaming giant Stillfront Group, the Zagreb gaming studio continues to experience continuous growth in numerous areas. The team has added 33 new colleagues after the acquisition, now totaling nearly 150 people, and the total number of game downloads has increased by as much as 30 million. They are also continuing to enter new markets through the localization of their games, which are available in 10 different languages, and their ambitious projects and plans have been supported by the President of the Republic of Croatia, Zoran Milanović.

During a visit to the company, Nanobit founders Alan Sumina and Zoran Vučinić briefed President of the Republic of Croatia Zoran Milanović on their past successes and plans for further growth.

– I dream of the day when this company will acquire a Swedish company, and that day will come. I hope we will see it – said President Milanović, adding that he is fascinated by the fact that such a small number of people work in a company that is completely oriented towards the global market, yet they earn a lot.

– As I am the Croatian president and I must think as much as I can about the whole, Croatia needs twenty such companies. They are successful, but we need more stories like this – said Milanović.

Since the acquisition, Nanobit has recorded an increase in the total number of downloads of its games by as much as 30 million, from 145 to 175 million. Additionally, through localization, they have managed to enter new markets and thus expand the number of potential users. Nanobit’s games are now available in Arabic, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Portuguese, Polish, Russian, Spanish, and Turkish.

– Nanobit ended the past 2020 year with 410 million kuna in revenue, making us certainly one of the largest ICT exporters in the Republic of Croatia. We introduced President Milanović to the gaming industry, as well as our products – games that are played by more than 10 million players worldwide each month, along with the challenges and opportunities that the domestic IT sector offers. Last year marked the 12th anniversary of Nanobit’s founding, and we also became part of the Swedish Stillfront Group. None of this success would have been possible without our colleagues, nearly 150 of whom have been here since day one. We are proud of what we have achieved so far, and I am sure that the best is yet to come – concluded Alan Sumina, co-founder and director of Nanobit.

In April 2021, Nanobit also launched its second game aimed at the Arabic market – My Story: Choose Your Own Path. The game has been localized into Arabic and is available there under the title 'Girls’ Secrets' as part of a partnership with Tamatem, the leading mobile game publisher in the MENA region. The partnership comes a year after the localization of Hollywood Story: Fashion Star under the title 'Fashion Queen', which conquered the Arabic gaming market with 10 million downloads.
