In the text “Deleted Potomac” by Marijan Bušić and Ante Jurjević from Zadarkomerc some inaccuracies have crept in that change the context, to which Potomac and its successors have reacted:
The company Potomac has never been blocked or in bankruptcy; it was a matter of restructuring through pre-bankruptcy proceedings. 'The silkworm business' has never been conducted through the companies Laminac and Svilanu but has been managed through Potomac and continues to operate legally through newly established firms.
The company Potomac d.o.o. was neither blocked nor in bankruptcy but was separated (eng. De-merger) into two legal successor companies – Kaptol Group and Outlet – with all employees, business operations functioning normally, and the rights and obligations that Potomac d.o.o. had. This is a standard corporate procedure that is often carried out in the business world; however, for some reason, this procedure is mentioned here in a negative context. The final obligations from the pre-bankruptcy settlement still exist and are simply transferred to the new companies, as are all other obligations.
It is factually correct that the largest creditors of Potomac were 'internal', but the context is incorrect because all those individuals were guarantors and payers, and some people were never part of the ownership structure. Likewise, the obligations from the pre-bankruptcy proceedings have been duly paid so far.
Therefore, the title stating that Potomac was deleted is not accurate; it would be more correct to say that it was separated, continues to live through newly established companies, and the Croata brand not only survived but was never in life-threatening danger, states the response.
