Drago Cmuk, the business director of CADCAM Group, presented their project of an integral platform for Industry 4.0 called Overdrive, funded by EU resources, at the Lider conference on the 4th industrial revolution.
As Cmuk explained, this is a platform that would allow the manufacturing industry to accurately assess the time when a product will be produced and at what stage of production it currently is. He illustrated the project’s idea using the example of Uber, which was among the first to present a platform where users know at any moment where their taxi is located. The question arose whether such a platform exists for manufacturing, for the industry.
– It exists, and we are working on its development and implementation – emphasized Cmuk.
It is essential that digital information about the product’s stage has continuity, which is difficult to achieve, and this is precisely the solution CADCAM aims to bring with its project. Overdrive, therefore, attempts to solve digital continuity in the product development phase. Cmuk pointed out that today it is necessary to talk about connected data that must be in one place.
