At the end of April, 237.6 thousand citizens were enforced with a debt of 17.2 billion kuna

At the end of April this year, 237.6 thousand citizens in Croatia were enforced, with a principal debt of 17.2 billion kuna, as well as nearly 15.7 thousand business entities, whose principal debt amounted to 4.7 billion kuna, according to data published on Tuesday by the Financial Agency (Fina).

At the end of April, due to unfulfilled payment bases, 237,594 consumers were recorded in the Register of Payment Order Bases, which is almost the same as in the previous month when there were 237,590. The principal of their debt amounting to 17.2 billion kuna was 37.6 million kuna or 0.2 percent lower than in March of this year, Fina reports.

According to the published data, when the principal of 17.2 billion kuna is added to the debt based on interest amounting to 6.4 billion kuna, the total debt of citizens with blocked accounts at the end of April amounted to 23.6 billion kuna.

Fina emphasizes that the largest part of the debt, amounting to 5.2 billion kuna (excluding interest), related to the debt of consumers to banks as creditors, while the total debt to all financial institutions amounted to 6.1 billion kuna.

According to Fina’s data, at the end of April this year, 15,692 business entities were recorded in the Register of Payment Order Bases, which is 229 or 1.5 percent more compared to March.

The principal of their debt amounted to 4.7 billion kuna, which is 47.7 million kuna or one percent less compared to March.

The debt based on interest amounted to 1.3 billion kuna, so the total debt of business entities at the end of April amounts to just over six billion kuna.

Fina’s data shows that among the enforced business entities, there are slightly more individuals performing registered activities (craftsmen), while legal entities prevail in terms of amounts.

Thus, at the end of April, 7,741 legal entities with a principal debt of 3.5 billion kuna had recorded due unfulfilled payment bases. When interest amounting to 947.4 million kuna is added, the total debt of legal entities amounted to 4.4 billion kuna.

At the end of April, 7,951 individuals performing registered activities also had blocked accounts, and their total debt amounted to around 1.6 billion kuna, of which 1.2 billion kuna relates to the principal, and 361.5 million to interest.
