After acquiring a stake in the RedAI application and rebranding, the Croatian consulting IT company Serengeti presented its first own product on Thursday – the Fiyu platform. This is a rapid application development (RAD) platform that arose in response to the two biggest challenges that Serengeti has identified in the software industry over more than a decade of operation.
– We realized that there are two major challenges in developing business applications. The first is that the application does not meet user needs, and the second is that their development takes a very long time, deadlines are postponed, and thus budgets are exceeded. We wanted to address these two challenges with the Fiyu platform. We condensed all our software implementation experience into this one platform – emphasized Goran Kalanj, director of Serengeti, noting that even the logo of the platform, a rocket, symbolizes speed and adaptability.
The greatest advantage of the Fiyu platform, besides being modular and using the most modern software implementation paradigms, is that companies developing business applications can use certain ready-made infrastructure elements. They do not have to deal with basic development, which accelerates their development. The platform is intended for companies with a large internal application development engine and IT companies that develop applications for end users.

Serengeti first tested the platform internally, and we also learned where the idea for its development originated.
– Our core business is the development of business applications, we have experienced impressive growth and realized that we have over 70 processes and over 500 activities in the company. As we partially used some software to track this, we concluded that we needed to develop our own application to monitor internal business operations. We decided to create a platform that covers standard components and modules, and based on that, we developed an internal application. The development lasted two years, and we perfected internal processes and created a quality base for future growth. It was a good testing ground for the platform – Kalanj explained.
Although it has just been officially launched, Fiyu already has two clients. The first is the Slovenian company Epilog, which decided to modernize its well-received warehouse management software on the market. Developed about 15 years ago, their product was still functionally good, but technologically it was increasingly failing to meet market demands.
– Within a week, we were able to display their internal processes on a prototype, and they liked it. They couldn’t believe that within a week we had already covered some processes that would have taken months without the platform. We incredibly reduced their development period; they say they saved two years that would have gone into that phase of development – said the head of Serengeti, which was confirmed by Gregor Rudolf, chief architect from Epilog, in his video testimony. The satisfied Slovenian client recommended Fiyu to an Austrian company that decided to try working with this ‘digital helper’ as well.
