In this year’s 21st edition of Deloitte’s competition for the 50 fastest-growing technology companies in Central Europe, companies from 18 countries participated: Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Montenegro, Czech Republic, Estonia, Croatia, Kosovo, Lithuania, Latvia, Hungary, Moldova, Poland, Romania, North Macedonia, Slovakia, Slovenia, and Serbia.

In the main category of the competition (Technology Fast 50), among the 50 fastest-growing technology companies this year, 42 new companies made it to the list for the first time, and it has become quite clear that the region is a hotspot for innovative and creative young companies shaping the future.

Of these, 8 companies that ranked last year in the Rising Stars category (special category for fast-growing companies that are not yet mature enough to be included in the main Fast 50 category). This also indicates the good health of the technology sector in the region, as companies that started their business just a few years ago have achieved significant growth and become established fast-growing technology companies.

– This year, we were particularly pleased with the fact that as many as 42 out of the 50 most successful companies on the list made it for the first time. This further attests to the exceptional speed at which companies with the best ideas and innovative solutions can develop. It is a great honor to be part of this, and it is truly inspiring to see high-quality innovations and a pioneering attitude in numerous companies in Central Europe – emphasized Zlatko Bazianec, head of the Croatian office and partner in Deloitte’s consulting department.

The report ranking and profiling the 50 fastest-growing technology companies in the entire region highlighted the Polish “Packhelp” as the fastest-growing with an average growth rate over a four-year period from 2016 to 2019 of 9,077%. Packhelp has developed a solution that allows companies of all sizes to access customized packaging with minimal environmental impact.

Second on the list is “DoDo” from the Czech Republic, with a growth rate of 8,427%. “DoDo’s” delivery service technology specializes in solutions that optimize same-day last-mile delivery.

The third place on the list went to another Czech company, “UlovDomov.cz” – the first, largest, and most comprehensive database for apartment rentals in the Czech Republic.

From Croatia, a total of six companies ranked in this year’s competition, of which five in the main category of the 50 fastest-growing, one in the Rising Stars category, while three companies were specifically highlighted and featured in the new category of Positive Impact Stars.

In the main category of the 50 fastest-growing companies, as previously mentioned, the best ranking was achieved by the company Electrocoin in 6th place with a growth of 2,617 percent. They are debutants in the competition, and their main activity is mediating in cryptocurrency trading and processing crypto payments. Once again, we have a company highly ranked in the Rising Stars category, with Speck ranking 3rd with a growth of 1076 percent, a company that designs and develops top-notch software and innovative applications for global clients.

Electrocoin d.o.o. was founded out of a hobby, to try something new and to see if we could have fun innovating in a completely new cryptocurrency industry. It turned out that we can not only innovate but also make a profit, grow at warp speed, push crypto into the mainstream, and start a revolution in the payment industry. We still manage to have fun making our customers happy. Fantastic, isn’t it? – says Nikola Škorić, CEO.

– Having a versatile team of experts in the Speck team allows us to translate business values into technology-driven digital products that people love to use. I started Speck with a vision to create a unique platform of knowledge and expertise where every team member can learn, grow, and advance professionally. In this year’s list of the fifty fastest-growing companies, there are companies from nine countries in Central Europe, in the following order from largest to smallest numerical representation: 21 from the Czech Republic, 15 from Poland, 5 from Croatia, 3 from Bulgaria, 2 from Slovakia, and one each from Estonia, Kosovo, Latvia, and Lithuania.

Companies older than three years do not meet the criteria for inclusion in the list of the fifty fastest-growing and are assigned to the Rising Stars category. The award “Rising Star” is given to those companies that are “too young” to be included in the report on the fifty fastest-growing companies by revenue, but which are likely to find themselves in the main category among the 50 fastest-growing in the coming years.

On the list of Rising Stars this year, the first two places were taken by Czech companies. The first is FTMO (FF Trader s.r.o.) with an average growth rate of 2,356%, and the second is GreyCortex s.r.o. with a growth of 2,030%. The third place was taken by the already mentioned Croatian Speck with a growth of 1,076%.

This year we also launched the category of Positive Impact Stars (Impact Stars). This is a special category that recognizes companies that successfully connect excellent products or services with a positive impact on at least one of the following areas: society, business, innovation, environment, and diversity. In this category, all participating countries represent three companies that have earned that valuable title through their work and impact. As previously mentioned, the Croatian companies Rimac Automobili, Infinum, and Infobip were presented in this category, having earned special recognition through their work, reputation, and impact.
