At the shipyard Brodosplit, which is part of DIV group, the keels of two new builds from the series of coastal patrol vessels contracted by the company with the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Croatia have been laid.
The vessels, measuring 43.16 meters in length and eight meters in width, will be equipped with the basic weapons currently used by all coast guards: a 30-millimeter automatic cannon, two 12.7-millimeter manually operated machine guns, and four handheld portable anti-aircraft missile systems.
The prototype coastal patrol vessel 'Omiš' delivered two years ago has significantly enhanced the capabilities of the Coast Guard with its technical equipment and is regularly involved in search and rescue operations, as noted by Brodosplit.
Therefore, they continue to build coastal vessels, with each subsequent construction being improved. The company reported that other world navies are inquiring about coastal vessels, which opens up the possibility of contracting new export deals.
